I couldn't fail to disagree less - Stephen Fry (appearing on QI)

Pond Life

NEWS: Pond Life Official Web Site now open!

Pond Life is a band that Glyn Collinson (guitar / tenor vocals) formed with my flatmates Ben Clayton (synth drums), Richard Wadsworth (synth synth and falsetto vocals) and myself (synth bass).

We specialise in 'comedy' music, covering such diverse themes as extreme post-relationship bitterness, student romance, debt collection, green vegetables, and small american animals.

The career of Pond Life to date can only be described as "laminated", with gigs at The Croft, The Epi, The Hiatt Baker Hall bar, the Cube, and the Mandela Bar having all gone extremely well. Next step... THE WORLD!!!!

Oh, well. Ok. Maybe not. Next step... CARRY ON GOING!!!

Yeah, that's better.

Glyn and Rich at Improv
Glyn and Rich at a panto improv performance. The band also features me and Ben but I couldn't find any decent pictures with either of us in, so... Hopefully there'll be a better one soon.(Foreground: Rob's head)

Songs

  • The Ex-Girlfriend Song - Some people have a love-hate relationship with their ex-girlfriends. They used to love them, now they hate them. This song goes a bit too far...
Download the mp3. Mixed by Ben Clayton.
  • Gecko Hunt - This is a song about some Geckos that Glyn found on holiday. It's a little bit Christian Rock but we like it like that.

  • Student Love Song - Many of the love songs you hear on the radio or in the street don't come anywhere close to the reality of the situation as Pond Life have found it as 21st century young British males. We present here an a more accurate rendition of this whole 'love' thing, as experienced daily by students up and down the country...

  • Raise your hands to the brocolli - In this secular age, religious music as is doesn't really do justice to the wide varity of different beliefs held by members of our British society. In an attempt to rectify this, Pond Life present a tribute to something we can all believe in: the greatest food in the world. Arguably.

  • Donald, where's your baby cakes? - (for want of a better name...) This is a rather disturbing medley of scottish folk music with classic and contemporary pop. Dear, oh dear...
  • It's the bailiffs - Better be careful what you do with those spare pounds!
